The Winners of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2010: Carla, Ashley and Barbie!!!
Watch the delayed telecast of the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2010 beauty pageant on Sept 5, 2010 on ABS-CBN!!!
When the new organizers of Mutya ng Pilipinas said they would bring back the glory of the beauty pageant, they were true to their word. The venue alone: Resorts World Hotel’s Grand Theater was a winner. It was plush and luxurious. The presentation was faaaaab. The audience was kept entertained during the breaks with Pinoy hip hop numbers that sizzled and macho Ukraine acrobats who did an unbelievable balancing act. The Russian hoola-hoop performer was so beautiful and wild with her hoops that I wanted her to win Miss Talent, LOLOLOL!!!

Yes pls will be waiting for your email, thanks.
Let me explain 1st the reason why Scribbleworks Productions Inc. (SW) entered into this business of beauty pageantry. Mutya ng Pilipinas (MNP) has a long & proud history of being one of the premiere beauty pageants in our country. At one time it was. Sadly over the years its image has suffered. It became stale, mediocre, and just run of the mill beauty pageant.
The new group was challenged when it was presented to them to revamp the pageant. Few people outside the industry of events management know the background of S.W. Scribbleworks Productions Inc. has a solid track record in TV production & events management. The projects S.W. does in the corporate world are even bigger than Mutya ng Pilipinas. So they made a thorough evaluation of the project presented to them & finally made a decision to go for it.
I totally agree that there’s a lot of very beautiful girls in Mindanao! That’s why S.W. went to Davao to do a screening. Unfortunately very few girls attended the audition & S.W. suspects that because of MNP’s tarnished image before very few girls dared to show up. Hopefully this time & with what S.W. has done , the beautiful ladies of Mindanao will finally show up for next year’s screening.
Going back to the pageant, a lot of new ideas were injected to the production. S.W. never wanted MNP to be the typical predictable pageant hence the entertainment was overhauled. Not only that, professional stylists, image makers, production crew and designers to name a few were used. They’ve finally started targeting the younger market.
I have to mention to that with S.W coming in, quite a number of staff from the previous group was displaced. So its not surprising too that these people will not be happy with anything that S.W. does. It was never intended to be that way but heck, S.W. was there to do a mission of saving an excellent brand.
I’m glad a lot of people are talking about Mutya ng Pilipinas again and S.W. is happier that most of the talk & feedback are very positive. There’ll always be criticisms about any pageant but we take it constructively and we know that there’s a lot of room for improvement. This is just the 1st year & lets face it, the change has been as described by one veteran pageant observer “180 degrees”.
To adventuresofabeautyqueen, thank you for creating this very interesting & lively blog. You’ve shown yourself to be very fair & objective, keep it up.
Hello Loy, thanks SO much for this. I think people need to understand how difficult it is to organize a beauty pageant, much more resuscitate ones that need new life! Y
es, there will always be people unhappy with things… but I like to look on the bright side and I feel that if S.W. continues on this track, Mutya ng Pilipinas (which was quite good IMHO this year) will only become better in the coming years. I suspect the success of the 2010 pageant will encourage more girls from all over the country to join next year!!!
BTW Loy, I have a few questions I’d like to ask regarding Mutya and the international pageants that your winners are going to, is it okay to email you?
hello po.
noong nlaman ko na bago na ang organizer ng mutya, natuwa ako at excited, and i expected a lot from scribbleworks. kahit alam ko na ang winner before the abs cbn televised the pageant exited pa rin po ako, at pinanood ko talaga hanggang katapusan. however, marami po akong napuna mula ngsimula ang mutya pageant. the male host was not good from the start. the introduction of each candidate is too long. naisip ko nga na sana instead of asking questions in the top 10 finalist, this time nalang sana nila i-introduce ang beautiful places nila na para bang “miss international traditional speech” at gawing “mutya ng pilipinas speech of beauty and tourism”. the pageant has a lot of production number na hindi kasali ang candidates, ng mukha tuloy talent show. ok. the philippine all star is a good dancer, pero naungusan nila ang candidates. i dont know what to say about the rapper during the long gown competition, mas maganda siguro pag ballad or acoustic. wala akong nakitang emotions during the announcement of winners, unlike the bb and mpe na naluluha tlaga. anyway, susuportahan ko pa rin ang mutya ng pilipinas kasi alam ko na gaganda at gaganda rin ang pageant na ito! malay natin, baka makuha na natin ang 1st ever miss intercontinental crown or 2nd miss tourism dahil sa mutya! thank u po.
Thanks Kristoffer – for your support in spite of the things you did not like. Personally I enjoyed the rappers and I loved the song during the long gown competition but did not like the way the rappers were getting in the way of the camera men. ANd I wish the rappers were wearing suits and moved a little bit more formal/suave – think Will Smith in a tux. I know most pageant fans find it hard to accept rap songs in pageants because it’s not usually done so I can understand how you feel about it.
THere are many things that can be done pa to improve the pageant but the most important thing is we keep supporting them and keep encouraging them. I think we will see great improvements in next year’s Mutya! Keep it up Scribbleworks and company for a great start with Mutya
we hope that you won’t stop this year and keep on shaping things up for the pageant!
ganda rin ung east cost’ USA
salamat may nanalo na rin pangasinan… taga pangasin kasi ako!!!
i was disappointed bcos of winners’ lack of emotions same as the top 10! oo nga marami dito sa mindanao maganda! sabi ko nga sa post ko before na atleast 8 or more from uzon visayas mindanao ncr and overseas para mas bonnga! kagabe parang presentation to the press lang promise!
Sorry to tell the organizer na frustrated kaming taga Mindanao na nanood kagabi and me personally ay di ko tinapos ang show.
To be fair, I suggest by Region ang contest.
Yes, there are so many beautiful Mindanao girls! Hoping that we see a more even distribution of contestants from the regions
I was excited to see the candidates on tv last night.. turned out I was not impressed… 1st sa production number (very lame) 2nd sa performers (not appropriate – so-street dance).. contestants on bikini (shy sila)…
kaya i went to sleep na lang..
buti na lang nanalo din yung bet ko si Ms. Ashley..
for Ms Ashley.. you fit for Binibining Pilipinas!
Jejekun, I enjoyed the pageant – I was watching it live, maybe that’s why. I didn’t like the gold dresses though because they kept on crawling up the girls’ thighs and they kept pulling them down. The streetdancers were really good and the girl dancers had the tightest abs on earth but I’m not sure if streetdance is bagay nga to a pageant. I enjoyed them anyway. I didn’t notice na shy pala sila kasi I was too far to see their faces.
I also did not like the way the winners were announced – First they chose top 10 or 15 (I forgot) then asked them questions. Then they chose top 5 and asked them questions. So bawas ang excitement because we knew who the top 5 were. Would’ve been more exciting if they just asked one round of questions and then announced the Top 5 winners starting with the runners-up. Just my thoughts…
hahaah! im very excited to watch the mutya ng pilipinas tonight at ab cbn, kahit alam ko na kung sino ang mga mananalo! this is also my first time to watch mutya thats why im very excited! hahaha!

The winners are decided prior to the screening. Nobody questions the results as everybody accepts how Mutya ng Pilipinas works. It’s how tati and her crew do their catering services stuffs.
Thanks Pre, and we should all respect that! Personally, I was very happy with the presentation of Mutya ng Pilipinas although I have never seen any Mutya pageat so I can’t compare it to previous pageants. I love the winners too. And thought that it was organized very very well. But there will always be room for improvement and am sure Tati knows what can be improved. Looking forward to next year’ Mutya and all the international pageants…
Miss Joyce, was the pageant televised?
It will be televised on Sept 5 on ABS CBN, not sure what time though but i am sure they will be announcing it often on channel 2 as the day approaches
why cheysen did not make it to the top ten despite of her oozing beauty and intelligence! well i cant do anything in this moment because its already finish, well cheysen 4 me is the winner
Haha thanks Ms Joyce and Viangchan. @jay i also like the new mutya-asia pacific. She has great potential to become the next Venus Raj! Keep an eye on her.
may suggestion for next year’s mutya is hopefully they will widen the pageant to the philippines kasi napansin ko na wlang candidates this year from mindanao. atleast 8 from ncr, 8 from visayas 8 from mindanao , 12 from luzon and at least 8 from overseas. from this region, atleast 2 automatically pasok sa semifinal, the other 5 will be chosen over all. and a fast track for the people’s choice> it means that there will be 16 semifinalist. tapos they will compete in swimsuit and long gown and the 5 will be chosen.then ALSO they will announce the regional winners from the delegates who did not make it to the final such as MUTYA NG PILIPINAS LUZON, VISAYAS, MINDANAO, METRO MANILA, OVERSEAS. THEY WILL SERVE AS THE runners up for the winners who cannot fullfill their duties. then the 5 will be ranked accdg to the result of the final and will be given a special title. MUTYA NG PILIPINAS QUEEN OF THE YEAR, MUTYA NG PILIPINAS TOP MODEL OF THE WORLD, MUTYA NG PILIPINAS ASIA PACIFIC, MUTYA NG PILIPINAS TOURISM. AND THE WINNER MUTYA NG PILIPINAS 2011!! not mutya ng pilinas interntional. tapos i send xa sa miss intercontinental since the pageant is already recognized in the world today. suggestions lang po. sorry po if may wrong grammar po. thanx miss joyce for having a blog for the filipina beauty queen and i really love ur blog. promise
i mean regional title to those who did not make it to the final 5.
Weeeeel… I will ask them too why they had a Miss Puerto Princesa AND a Miss Palawan. Kung cities dapat cities lang. Kung provinces, eh di provinces lang. But siguro they are still in the process of growing and improving. Ang alam ko they had 3 or 4 screenings in Manila and one in a province so hindi talaga comprehensive ang search ng Mutya but let’s encourage them to partner with groups in the provinces who can do the provincial pageants for them. Thanks kristoffer, dont’ you worry bout grammar, bawal ang grammar police dito sa blog ko!!! Hahahaha!
hahahaa! so you mean that i can use my major major grammar here! i love it!
Nice set of winners… I think they should have given one title for the Mutya ng Pilipinas like how Carousel would do it…..just have 4 runners-up assigned to different pageants….. the winner should be given the choice of what to attend……
i also wonder- is this the first time that Mutya Asia is not the top title? hmmm I wonder how the past Mutya Asia feels…. specially if they are holding Ms Asia Pacific this year- i believe it should be the top title, after all Mutya was specifically created to choose our rep for Ms Asia
oh- this year’s Mutya Asia is hot!!!!! if gets more tanned she could be another Venus
Jay, I know I mentioned in a couple previous comments that the Miss Asia Pacific will be revived but I’m realizing that the person who told me this was the PR guy for Mutya and is not well-versed in pageants. He might have just bee echoing his press releases diba? So, I will be interviewing someone directly in Mutya to get the correct answers to all these questions everyone is asking. Abangan…
Yes, Anna Gabriella and Gabby Estimada is one and the same person.
Her full name is Anna Gabriella Estimada and just like you, Myriku, i was also confused when the first press release came out since she was listed as Anna Gabriella.
Anyway congrats to Gaby and the rest of the winners.
Thanks for the clarification.
you both are far more observant than I am, LOL!
Miss Joyce, thanks for the results! I’ve been wondering why Miss Vigan is named Gabby Estimada. Is she and Anna Gabriella are one and the same? Thanks a lot!
Hi there, sorry, let me check. It was two am when i made my report. I might have made an error. Thanks for the note…
Mykiru, I am looking now at the Mutya booklet with all the photos of the contestants and the name for Vigan is Gabby Estimada. But the first set of photos in the press kit sent to me by Mutya listed her as Anna Gabriela. She is indeed one and the same girl.
You are VERY observant…
Shihan Go parin!…
OH THANKS GOD ABQ! HOPE THIS IS FOR THE BEST NA AND WILL BE RECOGNIZED AS THE GRANDSLAM PAGEANT IN ASIA AND THE PACIFIC REGION! I guess it will be held outside ksi kung dito sa atin>>> there will be no chinese delegate,, lololol. sayang! no china, definitely no hongkong, no taiwan, no macau, no singapore, even malaysia, tibet! sayang.
great winners, but im afraid of miss east coast! sana lang mayron miss asia pacific this year! anyway she can join the miss bikini int’l next year! sana mayroon din crown for top model of the world philippines! anyway, here is my prediction for this year’s mutya!
mutya INTERCONTINENTAL ASHLEY MC GARRY, coz i thought that the top winner will be send to this pageant since it is one of the biggest and oldest than miss tourism in malaysia!
mutya TOURISM BARBIE SALVADOR
mutya ASIA PACIFIC SHARON ANGEL
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS AND ALSO TO THE NEW ORGANIZERS!
Sabi daw nila meron this year. Will try to verify that ha…
Not quite sure kung ano ang significance ng order of awarding kasi pare-pareho ang mga prizes nila. Will try to get these questions answered…
nice batch!!!!just asking why the crown of mutyas tourism international is bigger than mutyas,s asia pacific????de ba ang asia pacific ang pinaka ka winner???is this a new rule but i think sa past Asia pacific is the most coveted title here!!!tnx alot!!!!Good luck sa winners!!!!
Oo nga, not sure what the heirarchy is or if there is a heirarchy to begin with. Will most likely be interviewing the Mutya leadership to ask all your questions…
