Wendy Tabusalla, an AB Masscom girl and fashion model wins the first ever Miss Resorts World 2010 beauty title! Congratulations to Wendy Tabusalla for also winning Best in Long Gown. Wendy Tabusalla will now assume the job of beauty ambassadress for Resorts World. Her prizes include a free one-year lease on a condo unit and P500,000!!!
1st Runner-up meantime is the uber-sexy Maxine Mamba who is also a model and an aspiring film-maker from UP.
2nd Runner-up is the tall and willowy Anthea Murfet who is the daughter of a Cagayan de Oro beauty queen. This half Pinay, half-Aussie lass was one of my picks for the crown because of her gorgeous face and towering height of 5’11″. Anthea Murfet also won Best in Swimsuit.
Congratulations to all the girls who joined and to all the winners – Wendy Tabusalla, Anthea Murfet and Maxene Mamba – a job well done! Hoping to see some of you in Bb. Pilipinas, Miss Earth or Mutya next year!
(Apologies if names are mispelled – would appreciate it if someone could make corrections, I wrote this on the fly based on a text from a friend who watched the pageant at the Resorts World Theater…)

oo nga… lying is a shame. But we are not sure if the girls lied. Baka naman they told the organizers. Or maybe MRW is open to young moms. Will try to ask about the rules or MRW…
Hi Daf, not sure about the rules on MRW, i will try to find out. But if their rules state that contestants have to be single with no kids etc etc and then the girls lied then the organizers will have to find a better way to screen the girls.
I would say shame on those who lie… and shame on whoever turns a blind eye to lying.
But there should be no shame for women who have children whether they are married or not.
I asked the organizers of Miss RWManila and they clarified that single mothers were welcome to compete. The way I look at it, women with no children would have the edge over mothers in a beauty pageant.
but the whole issue is moot since Scribbleworks texted me saying that there are no rules against young moms joining the pageant.
hmmm- i believe that this rule about being single and not having kids is not really fair…. having a child at a young age should not define or constraint a person from doing what she wants….
if youre 16, got you got raped, got pregnant and became a young mom- why should that one incident stop you from pursuing your dreams
even if youre just plain stupid who fell in love and got pregnant- i still believe youre still entitled to be the best person you can be… everyone commit mistakes
the modeling world has accepted this reasoning- Melanie Marquez won Super Model of the World (first runner-up, well correct me if Im wrong) when she was already a mother. Even in America’s Next Top Model- young mothers are allowed to join….
For beauty queens- I think we should allow young mothers to compete- after all, contestants are judged for their beauty and personality- I find it hard to accept that a woman who had an abortion will be allowed to compete in a beauty contest because she has never given birth and a woman who was strong enough to stand by the consequences of being pregnant will be banned because she is already a mother
but hey, lying is a totally different story……..
on another note: 500,000 CASH PRIZE IS COOL!!!! i think major beauty pageants like the Bb should have bigger and better prizes- even Willie would give a house and lot, car, plus 1 Million in Wowowee’s beauty contest….. If the Bb. wants to attract the likes of Georgina Wilson or Isabelle Daza to join, they should give a higher incentive for the winner…..well, at least Ms Phils- Earth wins a cool ONE MILLION!!
anyway- congratsssss to the winners of this contest, they all look beautiful!!!
Jay you are definitely right! BB. and the other major pageants should give bigger prizes
I like the way you say things and I agree that young mothers should have an opportunity to also join pageants. But there is one drawback to this – if you win the international competition, there might not be room for a baby in one’s hectic schedule
I saw Wendy the other night at Resorts World. She is definitely a stunner. She is very friendly too.
Yeah, the World Resorts winner gets a condo and a one or two year working contract… not a baaaad deal… I’d be stunning and friendly too if I had her job, LOL!
LOL Miss Joyce. Yes, definitely not a Bad Deal. A Very good deal in Fact. Bb Pilipinas should follow suit. There are so many Condo’s now in Araneta Center. And I do not think a Month’s rent will hurt.
I think the Bb Pil girls have a condo they share if they need a place to stay in Manila.
Yeah, the World Resorts winner gets a condo and a one or two year working contract… not a baaaad deal… I’d be stunning and friendly too if I had her job, LOL!
Congratulations Ms. Resorts World Philippines and Supermodel Philippines!!!
