ABQ Talks About Bulimia on “Chink Positive” AKSYON 92.3 FM
Last Sunday, January 27, 2013, turned out to be a most POSITIVE day for me!
I was up with the crowing of the rooster (and the full moon which was STILL in the dark sky) for my interview on “Chink Positive,” the talk show of comedian-turned-businessman Chinky Tan on AKSYON 92.3 FM which airs every Sunday 6-8 am. His co-host is the vivacious Christina Lazo.
To be truthful, it was a difficult interview for me because it’s not in my nature to lay bare my weaknesses. For the first time in my life, I publicly gave details on my past struggle with Bulimia and Anorexia which I went thru during my beauty queen years and beyond. I also talked about my dependence on alcohol (in the latter part of my life) and how I overcame it.
Difficult as it was to talk about these things, it is true what the Bible says: His strength is made perfect in my weaknesses (2 Cor. 12:9). Whenever I talk about these things, God gives me the strength to keep out of the darkness and to continue living victoriously. And I believe that my story will give a ray of light to people with similar struggles!
So I left “Chink Positive” feeling joyful and… well… as the show title suggests… quite POSITIVE!
Catch “Chink Positive” with Chinkee Tan and Christina Lazo every Sunday morning 6-8am on Aksyon 92.3 FM !!
