A pleasant afternoon Ma'am Joyce! In my own opinion, it wasn't a failure since Jenna Talackova landed as one of Top 12 Semi-Finalists in the recently concluded Miss Universe-Canada 2012. Jenna should be inspired to her fellow contestant, Iranian-Canadian Beauty, Sahar Biniaz,26 yrs.old finally won the coveted national crown for the second time since 2008 that Sahar Biniaz became first runner-up in the same contest...As for Jenna Talackova, she keeps on trying her luck on next year's pageant. How about considering herself joining in a national contest(s) that have the local franchise(s) of Miss Tiffany's Universe and Miss International Queen?,organized by Thailand but two different int'l.pageantries for transgenders/transexuals across the globe.

Lauren, your story made me cry! I just thank God there pare people like you who care so much. Please contact Ed Bond (via email - search thru the comments here, his email addy is everywhere here)for a vet in your area who can do the tap. He has a network of vets all over the world who do the tap. I am guessing your vet might not know of the ndv tap because he/she wouldve suggested it. The sooner you get the tap, the better. I am praying haaaaaaard for baby. Please drop me a comment to update me... Be strong and be brave for your baby!

This gives me some much needed hope. My baby was diagnosed with this today. It has been a struggle, for first she had Parvo, then she supposedly had kennel cough. I know now that it was the beginning stages of distemper. She was put on a strong antibiotic, showed improvement- but not much. Meds ended, and she continued to get worse. She lay now a little skeleton in her crate twitching, and hooping of the eyes. I'm calling a new vet tomorrow to see if they do the spinal tap. I'm not giving up on my baby girl until she gives up. She really is a fighter. Parvo was no big deal for her, and with an antibiotic shot from the vets earlier, she seems to have already improved a little. Hopefully we can get her better. I'm scared to death. She is still the sweetest dog ever. I just held her today after the vet. She kept trying to lick my tears away. Poor baby. I love her so much. Her story is tragic enough- this can't be the way she goes. When she was 2-3weeks old, she was found by a dumpster by one of my friends' friend. He took her in, couldn't care for her, gave her to my friend, she couldn't care for her, so she gave her to me. After knowing this, I named her Hope. She really is as tough as nails. I'm praying she gets through this. Wish my family and I luck!

Hi Ariel thanks for your thoughts on this. Many in the gay and transsexual community are happy about it, but there are also many who don't like the idea of Jenna being allowed to join. As for me, I believe that transsexuals should have good jobs, be treated fairly, have access to education and other basic needs. I HATE it when I hear stories of transsexuals being fired simply because they are transsexuals. And I hate it that Jenna has experienced so much meanness and cruelty from people who don't understand her. I have judged and even hosted at the Miss Gay Philippines beauty pageant which often has transsexual contestants and I love their passion for beauty.

With that said, I still don't like the idea of transsexuals competing in pageants that are meant for females. One of the jobs of a MU winner is working with children and visiting schools and charities. I don't think schools or orphanages are open to a transsexual MU visiting them. And many parents of schoolchildren would most likely object to this too. I am also worried that there may be countries who will back out of the MU. And some sponsors may back out as well. I am suspicious that Donald Trump is just using Jenna to give media mileage to MU. But I doubt he will allow her to win because having a trans winner may bring him more problems. As we know, many sponsors are still old school and conservative. So feeling ko, it's just a marketing move on DT's part para pag-usapan ang MU but he will never let her win. Of course, I could be wrong; only time will tell.

so...

While Jenna is a woman in her heart and on paper, the science that made her a woman is the same science that will show that she still carries the male Y Chromosome in her DNA. There is no going around the fact that if they scraped cells from her body, the lab report will say that the specimen came from a male. She is a Cartier with Rolex parts, valuable for sure, but still a mix of two worlds as you said. She should compete in a pageant for male women like the Tiffany pageant.

Anyway, I am watching Jenna's story carefully and praying that at the end of it all, she finds what God really wants for her...
