Miss British Virgin Islands Universe 2009, Josefina "Kathy" Nunez
Miss British Virgin Islands 2009 Josefina Nuñez has an interesting platform: raising awareness on DEPRESSION.
Josefina Nuñez herself suffered from depression herself when her Dad passed on. She says,
When my father committed suicide, I did not know that he was depressed, I just thought he was a little stressed out from work and if I can help save someone from the pain that my family and I have suffered, I am willing to go the extra mile to assist.
In a recent talk she gave to graduating college students, the 5’5″ beauty queen recalled living for months being depressed over the loss of her Dad. But she assured that that depression can be cured by remembering that each person is on earth for a reason and with God’s help, all things are possible.
For now, Josefina Nuñez (or Kathy, as she is fondly called) is 100% focused on training in Puerto Rico in the areas of poise, posing for the camera, walking, communication and etiquette.
