I thought I was the only one who thought of Sandra Bullock when I first saw photos of Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2010 Eva Arias, but if you click here, you’ll see the resemblance!
Eva Arias is a professional model who tried out for Miss Dominican Republic 4 years ago! Although she was crowd favorite, she lost to Mia Taveras that year. So winning this year’s Miss Dominican Republic beauty contest is vindication for the 5’10″ professional model.
In between both pageants, Eva Arias spent 2 years in Milan, Italy working as a fashion model. As a result of living there, she learned to speak Italian. Her mother tongue is Spanish.
But Eva Arias faces lots of pressure in this year’s Miss Universe – last year’s Miss Dominican Republic Ada de la Cruz, won 1st Runner-up at the Miss Universe and people expect Eva to beat that. Or at least enter the semi-finals.
It’s not easy being a beauty queen!
