Miss FRANCE, Malika Menard
Did you know that Malika Menard’s first name means “queen” in Arabic? Well, I discovered that in this French article written by Alexis Boutevillain. She does look like a queen doesn’t she? I’m betting she will make it into the Magic 5 in this year’s Miss Universe 2010. Malika Menard’s smile is the best one I’ve seen in this batch so far…
But a bit of background on Malika. Her dad is a dentist/sports therapist/musician. Her Mom grew up in Morocco and the name Malika is a reminder of that place.
Another piece of trivia on Malika Menard – she is the 82nd Miss France Universe and the first to be chosen solely by televiewers. This 5’8″ blue-eyed Normandy goddess hauled 34% of the vote. The good news is, she was ALSO the top choice of the judges. But Malika says she never expected to enter the semi-finals, much less win the Miss France title; to this day she finds it difficult to believe.
But before she won the title, Malika Menard was busy studying; she was a third-year law student. But her dream is not to practice law but to be a journalist because she loves to write and is fond of philosophy. Once she is done with the Miss Universe 2010, she intends to continue her studies and work as a journalist.
