Miss Ghana, Awurama Simpson
Miss Ghana Universe 2010 Awurama Simpson’s complete name is Krystle Awurama Simpson. This long and lean wonder is just one inch shy of 6 feet. Just like many of our kababayans in the Philippines, Awurama Simpson’s Mom found a way to leave thier home in Ghana to move to America for a better life. They settled in Germantown, Maryland.
And it seems like it was a good move for the family; Awurama is enjoying a great life in the US. In her MySpace, Awurama Simpson says she is studying to be a doctor and working part-time as a model. She was also crowned Miss Ghana USA in 2008.
The one thing Miss Ghana Universe 2010 is VERY passionate about is her Gold Star Foundation. It is centered on educating and supporting children and underpriveleged Africans. Through Gold Star, Awurama Simpson raises contributions like canned food, clothing, shoes and books.
At Gold Star, she says they are reminded of what Jesus said about worrying over things. “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
I’m sure this golden-hearted ebony beauty can’t wait to finish medical school so she can contribute even more to the plight of less fortunate Africans!
