Although Kenia Martinez says winning Miss Honduras Universe was something she never imagined because of what she felt was tough competition, she was favored, from the very start, to win the crown. Her edge was not just her physical beauty but also her previous experience in the world of beauty pageants.
Kenia Martinez, who is the second black beauty to win the Honduran scepter, had been living in New York for four years working and doing occasional modeling jobs. Then she made the decision to leave her life there and return home to join beauty pageants. Kenia Martinez was Miss Honduras National Beauty 2006 and represented her nation in the Miss World Amber beauty contest in the same year and was ranked among the five finalists and won the prize for best costume. She is from the town of Tela and dedicates all her victories to her hometown.
Kenia Martinez who is 5’9″ tall, describes herself as…
“a beautiful woman, responsible, determined and capable.”
