Our Miss Jamaica representative to the Miss Universe 2010 is Yendi Phillips who is a beauty pageant veteran with another national title under her belt – she won Miss World Jamaica 3 years ago and represented her island nation in the Miss World 2007 and made it into the Top 16. In that contest Yendi Phillips also became the first Miss World contestant to make it into the finals of ALL the fast track events. Click here to see them all!
This part Indonesian black beauty credits her Mom, who died when she was a young girl, for her confidence and drive. Yendi Phillips dedicates all her victories to her.
According to Wikipedia, Yendi Phillips carries a Fine Arts degree with focus on Dance from the State University of New York at Brockport. Add to that a Master’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Management. She also happens to be the host Digicel Rising Stars, a talent search show in Jamaica.
This 5’10″ babe reportedly caught the eye of sprint star Asafa Powell and sources close to both of them confirmed they are in a relationship but the beauty queen demurely downplayed the story saying they are just long-time friends adding that Asafa contributed to one of her fund-raising fashion shows. Powell is a former 100M world record holder.
Yendi Phillips lists down the following as her hobbies: Dance, modeling, swimming, program palnning, laying on the beach, socializing and watching cricket. She hopes to meet Oprah Windrey because she’d like to one day have the same impact she does all over the world.
