Miss Mauritius 2009, Dalysha Doorga
When the dusky Dalysha Doorga won the Miss Mauritius 2009 scepter, she also won the right to represent her island nation at the Miss Universe 2010.
The one thing I totally envy about her is that she can do the split, LOLOL! Dalysha Doorga also has the energy and time to exercise six times a week! She says working out is just part of her life and that dance fitness is her thing.
Aside from being a fitness freak, Dalysha Doorga is a fashion fanatic who loves art and sewing! She holds a degree (with honors) in Textile and Fashion Design from the University of Mauritius with the dream of pursuing a Master’s in Fashion and lecturing in a university one day.
With her background in fashion, it isn’t a surprise that she won the Miss Elegant award in the Miss Mauritius 2009 beauty pageant. And with that pretty face, neither is it a surprise that she took the Miss Photogenic award as well.
Miss Mauritius 2009 is not the only pageant experience she has. Dalysha Doorga competed in Miss East Africa held in Tanzania in December 2009. She walked off stage with the 1st Dauphine honors (1st Runner-up).
