Mariana Vicente was already a popular model in her country by the time she joined the Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2010 beauty pageant. In that competition she won several honors including L’Bel Face, JC Penney’s Style Award, Holsum Light Best Figure and Payless Best Catwalk.
This 5’6″ beauty queen is of Spanish ancestry – her grandfather emigrated in the olds days from Spain to Puerto Rico. She is the eldest of four children and belongs to a family that highly values the arts and entertainment so from a young age, Mariana Vicente was exposed to dance, painting and song.
The graceful moves she has today, she got from ballet and dance lessons from age 4 to 14.
From age 7 to 14, Mariana Vicente also took art lessons under the late international painter Andrés Bueso who introduced finger painting to Puerto Rico. By the time she was 9, she had her own collection of artwork and had exhibited some of them in international expositions.
It doesn’t end there. From age 15, she has been training her voice in preparation for a possible career as a singer. Then when her curves started to come out, Mariana Vicente began doing TV commercials and modeling stints in Puerto Rico. But it was winning the “La Cara de Imagen L’Oreal” contest in 2005 that opened doors for her.
One of her most controversial photo shoots was for the El Yunque National Forest. Mariana Vicente was supposed to be in a swimsuit but they decided to shoot her completely naked – like Eve in the garden of Eden. But, sorry non-gay guys, Mariana was always positioned in such a way that would make readers of Playboy Magazine complain. Jejejejeje…
Thanks to Hector Joaquin for this gorgeous photo of Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2010, Mariana Vicente!
