Miss Serbia Universe, Lidija Kocic
This year’s representative from Serbia is Lidija Kocic, the 1st Runner-up in Miss Srbije 2009 (that’s how they spell it at home) held in Belgrade last year. Don’t underestimate this 5’11″ beauty queen. She is a Management graduate and is now in post-graduate studies preparing her thesis.
Lidija Kocic is also polyglot and can converse in English, French and Greek. She also knows some Italian and Spanish.
But enough of Lidija’s brains! This Serbian babe is always shopping with her MOM!
In fact, it’s no secret that Mom is her main advisor when it comes to style. Ever since she was a little girl, Mom has been dressing her in skirts and dresses and beautiful hairpins. Mrs. Kocic loves to mix and match clothes – a skill Lidija picked up and by Grade 7, she began to experiment with fashion. But never did she go too weird or wild; she has always stuck to modern and classic designs . If you open her closet, Lidija Kocic claims you’ll mostly find jeans and dresses.
This shop-a-holic says she can even remember the first time she went shopping alone. She was in 2nd year High School. Like any woman, Lidija Kocic says she loves to buy stuff (especially foreign-designed clothes), because it calms and relaxes her. But even up to this day, it’s her Mom who makes the major fashion choices for her.
One big shopping weakness for her is hairpins. Yes, that’s right, Lidija admits she is completely addicted to buying hairpins of all colors, shapes, sizes and designs. She keeps them all on a special shelf in her room with the oldest hairpin being at least 10 years old.
Miss Serbia also remembers that growing up she had a huuuuge doll with lovely dresses that were big enough for her! She would wear her doll’s dresses and it would make her feel like a princess. How wonderful is that?
Today Lidija Kocic is more than a princess: she is a beauty queen representing her country in the biggest pageant in the world!
