Miss Uruguay, Stephany Ortega

When Stephany Ortega was born, her Mom Gladys named her after Princess Stephanie of Monaco. Gladys always told her daughter that she was meant to be a princess and now it seems those words were very prophetic: Stephany Ortega is a beauty queen representing her country Uruguay in the Miss Universe 2010 beauty contest.

Mom Gladys, who always wanted to be a model, says her daughter Stephany is living the life she always dreamed of. Stephany started modeling at age 14 (just like me!) and last year she was picked up by Valentino Bookings.

This 5’8″ green-eyed siren is in her third year of studying Economics. But after winning Miss Uruguay Universe 2010, Stephany had to put her education on hold. Pageant organizers hustled her off to Medellin, Colombia for 3 to 4 months of intensive training. It was difficult  for Stephany because she had to spend all that time away from her family and her boyfriend Jose Ignacio. Her training included 2 hours of aerobics a day and her diet was mainly composed of fruits, veggies, fish and chicken. Absolutely NO junk food, NO flour-based food and NO alcohol.

Now we know how tough it is to be a beauty queen!

With all that training this is what Miss Uruguay Universe 2010 Stephany Ortega has to say:

I have every faith to at least reach the top 15, and I will give everything to be among the five finalists!
