MWP 2012 Notes: Contestant #15 Daphne Tanya Molenar
DAPHNE TANYA MOLENAR’S WINNING ASSET: No Training Needed!
Daphne Tanya Molenar (or Molenaar as the Dutch spell it) is a familiar face in the modeling scene of Bacolod. She is part-Dutch and can speak the language as well as English and Tagalog. After reading more about her in this wonderful post by MWP Regional Blogger Mary Jane Cabrera, I have come to realize that this young 17 year-old is so well-rounded that she will need little training to compete abroad and face International judges. And with the Miss World beauty pageant in China just a couple months away, we need a girl who’s ready.
First – she’s an honor student, a Golden Pen Awardee of the DepEd and has won an award for painting. Daphne Molenaar also sings and plays the guitar. Hmmm… multi-level intelligence. Nice. Should be able to hurdle tough questions in a single bound. And with her travels to the Netherlands, Germany and Thailand, talking to the judges should be a piece of cake.
Second – Daphne Molenar is into competitive sports – she’s won an award in swimming and is a Tug-of War champion. This will come in handy for the Miss World Sportswomen Special Award.
Third – the whole Molenaar family is involved in charity work in Bacolod. Another asset since Miss World is serious about it’s “Beauty with a Cause” theme.
Fourth – this 5’8″ beauty has some pageant experience entering the Top 8 in the Miss Silka Beauty Pageant in 2009 and is part of the Bacolod-based Blackout Models. That should make Daphne Tanya Molenar used to the spotlight. LIKE!
And, as I said, she’s ONLY 17. WOW!
