Miss Universe 2012 is OLIVIA CULPO of the USA; Philippines is 1st Runner-up! ABQ’s Review and Results of Miss Universe 2012!
Waiting for the Miss Universe 2012 beauty pageant to start was so nerve-wracking for me, I felt like I was on 10 cups of coffee. At the moment, I am chatting with other pageant followers on Facebook, including my buddy Sal B. who is at the venue as I type. I remain jealous of him and wished I could watch Miss Universe live to!
Anywhooo, this post will be a rambling account of what I saw at coronation night. I’m watching online, thanks to Missosology.org.
Let me just upload a photo here of me and Janine Tugonon, our representative at Miss Universe we are SO PROUD OF YOU and congratulations for placing First Runner Up, Mabuhay ang Pinoy!
The winner is Olivia Culpo of the USA, scroll down to see the rest of the results and some more photos.
THE MISS UNIVERSE 2012 CORONATION SHOW BEGINS:
The Parade of Nations begins… the main stage is Christmassy white while the girls wear bold solid colors. Wonderful! A Winter Wonderland full of beauties!
But my stream is choppy, grrrr…
Janine was in a bright fushia dress. According to Sal, Philippines got the loudest applause and it was matched only by USA! And Guam had a small slip.
Loving the hosts, loving the big feeling, this is going to be a great presentation! Sal says, “It’s mad crazy in here!” And yes, I can hear the applause loud and clear in my bedroom in Marikina!!!
The hosts called it “The Holiday Edition” of the Miss Universe! I wonder if they will keep it in December from now on?

SWIMSUIT COMPETITION AT THE MISS UNIVERSE 2012 HOLIDAY EDITION –
They called all the contestants back on stage. Wow, the energy is amazing! This is the best Miss U I have seen in the past few years!
Venezuela – Sassy twirl. Bouncy Hair. Amazing Smile! What a tanned bod!
France – Big curls. What abs! Pert smile. Not as feisty as Venezuela tho.
Peru: Her abs rule! She really rocks. Taking it slow, this girl…

Mexico: Wow, abs again just amazing! Nice flirty twirl!
Poland: Ahhh… blonde bombshell on the stage! Lightly tanned and beautiful!
Hungary: Oooh… the waistline. So tiny!
South Africa: Another stunning blond. Her abs are killing me too! gotta get to the gym, after Miss U
Philippines and the crown went nuts! She is owning the stage with her cobra walk, Go JANINE!!!
Croatia: Oh, lovely hair. My fair lady… she obviously hates the sun. She is as fair as can be
Brazil: Oh, my the shortest girl made it into the top 16, you can’t underestimate them! She has the most gorgeous curves
Kosovo: elegant in her swimsuit. Not thin, not fat, but absolutely sexy!
Australia: Oh, sunny beauty! Love the hips that jut out so perfectly…
India: Catwalk to death and project to death.
USA: She’s got the best tan! and the abs just knock me out!
ANNOUNCEMENT OF TOP 10!
My heart is beating like a maniac
We actually made it! OMG! And she was up against Kosovo and Croatia, two contestants that I thought would make it into the Top 10! Thank you LORD!
Just a thought: Usually huli ang pag-announce ng Philippines sa Miss U semi-finals… hmmmm…
They showed videos of each of the Top 10 girls sharing their thoughts and Janine Tugonon said that Miss Universe was a big thing for the Philippines and if she wins the crown it will make Filipinos happy and will be like a Christmas gift to the nation! GREAT SOUNDBYTE JANINE!
TRAIN IS PERFORMING! Time for a CR break…
Evening Gown Competition: (While Train is playing)
Australia: Lovely while gown. Mala-corset
Russia: Ooo nice pose. Still hate the hair but love the girl. No to the gown. Yes to the girl.
Brazil: Short is sexy! Nice silvery gown, pang winner! Bongga!
France: Another silver piece. Npot as bongga. But lovely.
Venezuela: Ay, statuesque talaga! Emerald green gown, different from what she wore in gown competition. Parang Christmas gift…
USA: Short really is the next sexy! Oh, this gown I hate. But the boobs are bongga
Hungary: White and clean. Love the upper part. Mixed about the fluffy lower part.
South Africa: Gold na silver. Actually light gold. Mosaic pattern. LOVING IT!
Mexico: Ooo, the red swimsuit gown hybrid that I hate and love. Still Mexico is a winner.
Philippines: Light blue really suits her. Wow, Janine in a ponytail, like a Pinay Barbie! Crowd is going WILD like a Pacquio fight, maybe worse! LOL! Lets hope Mexico doesn’t knock us out, grrrr…
Loved it when Train played their Christmas song. It’s now official my favorite Christmas song of 2012 and will always make me think of this day! Merry Christmas y’all! Let’s pray Janine moves into the
Top 5 and snatches that crown for our THIRD Miss U title!
MISS CONGENIALITY UNIVERSE 2012 IS: MISS GUATEMALA!
Fine job Guatemala! Doesn’t speak English but won Miss Friendship anyway, chickadora talaga 🙂 no language needed when making friends!
ANNOUNCEMENT OF TOP 5:
Venezuela – Irene Esser
Philippines (omghomgomgomgomgomgojmg!!!) – Janine Tugonon
Australia – Renae Ayris
USA – Olivia Culpo
Brazil – Gabriela Markus
Wow, looks like we were wrong about the short girls!!!!!! Congrats to all Top 5, Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!! Thanks to Miss Universe for restoring our faith in the petite packages, I am so loving it!
New Year’s resolution: Never to look at a girl’s height when judging pageants.
Thought: Oh, we knocked down Mexico… in Miss Universe 2012. She got left behind in round 10. LOLOL! Thanks Janine, that’s payback for Manny’s meeting with the boxing ring floor!
Girls get to choose a judge who askes them thier final question. They have 30 seconds to answer.
Venzuela – Question asked in her launguage but she snswered well enough in broken English. Hats off to her. Couldn’t understand it tho, choppy feed.
Philippines – Asked about speaking English as a prerequisite. She had an awesome language answer! Miss Universe is not about language, its about heart! The host even praised her saying GOOD ANSWER
Australia – Asked about losing weight for a modeling contract or risk losing the project. She said she feels comfortable with herself. Then missed the rest of her answer.
USA – What is something you would never do again? (nice question) She looks nervous. Picking on her siblings when growing up is her choice.
Brazil – Answered in Portuguese (I think) talked about showing character as beauty contestant. So choppy. But audience cheered her answer, not as loudly as the Philppines tho.
Wow, Ididn’t understand Brazil’s answer but what I gathered from the audience and the hosts, the best answer was from THE PHILIPPINES! Go Janine!!!
MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR CONNECTICUT.
Im crying now. May God bless all their souls and may he comfort their family and give them strength and love this Christmas… and hug the ones you love a little bit more tightly…
PERFORMANCE FROM TIMOMATIC!
This is one of the most energetic Miss Universes I have seen (I’ve seen only the past three and mine, hehehe), the crowd is beyond wild! And I SO LOVE IT! Let’s do it in Las Vegas every December from now on!
(They introduced Donald Trump for a moment)
National costume winner: China won I think. So choppy!!!
